tell us what other games you play/tried and what you liked from them.

i played rohan, rappelz, and archlord

archlord i loved EVERYTHING about it, just that its a solo game, no group playing. no supports chars.

rohan, i like it. besides ppl use "2x exp party scroll" which boosted the party exp for 2hrs or more. that means that "you" being f2p you could enjoy p2p bonuses. the classes where nice, almost the same as rs... mage, priest, archer, warlock (mage with some debuffs, not as good as necro), etc.
the truth is that i dont remember why i stoped playing this game loool

rappel, had nice classes, you NEED a pt to lvl fast: you go to hard dungeons with your pt. what i didnt like is that its a "pet" based game. all you do is lvl up a pet and the one with best pet wins (sort of).. not my type of game.

tell us about your game pros and cons.
and sort of compare it with rs.

ps: also what i didnt like about this games its that they are already quite old, so its full of super high lvls. you are just one more between thousands. here in rs your more unique, ppl know you.

we are unique here ONLY because its a low population game...;/

i have been thinking about moving on aswell....i am not keen on spending 30$ a month on a game which has soo many problems....
or maybe the problem is that i KNOW about all the problems Razz

..lol ignorance is bliss....

In my research, i keep going back to WoW. perhaps my lappy can handle the first 2 'games' before WotLK.....and it seems to be a more all round 'bigger' game.....not just grind and 2 SD's per day...lol and we are LUCKY to even find SD ppl now.. Sad

i will see.....;/

well i like the simplicity of rs too.
wow seems a bit to complicated. huge maps, too much stuff to do.
i like lvling and gvg. thats all xD no quests, no fight for smthing...

anyone know a nice page where they advertise or post about new games?
i want a game where im like everyone, not nice being uber low and everyone like already mastered the game.

fox ex. archlord. to be good there you should play like a year. cause its already a old game. you join a guild and your just a noob advertising the guild (with emblem)

MMOs come in three categories.

1. P2P games(not much experience here, I pirate everything I get on the PC meaning I don't play P2P games. Hell, Starcraft 2 is the first game i'm buying for PC in 5 years.)

2. Generic, over-used shit. By this, I mean 99% of F2P mmos. The standard, grind alongside bland quests, pk if you want, run of the mill garbage. These tend to have no storyline at all, and (usually) crappy 3D graphics.

3. The few F2P games that are good. Only problem is...there's always SOMETHING(and it's big) specific that kills these games. RS falls into this category(it's killer being...well I don't really need to tell you all, do I?).

I refuse to play 1 or 2. I've tried Rappelz, it's definitely a 2.

Here are my other don't plays:
ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING by K2. I don't need to explain why.

There is one that receives my recommendation. It's F2P with a cash shop. It's been called a "WoW clone". I've never played WoW so I can't confirm or deny this, but it seems similar.

The game is Runes of Magic. It's quite a deep game, and good overall too. If you don't like quests, bad news. The main way of leveling in it is quests, monster exp does not compare whatsoever. But there are more kinds of PvP combat than I can count, including guild based and team(random) based.

I'd recommend to give it a try if your comp can handle it(the requirements aren't too drastic, but they're a long way off from RS).

Why I don't play. Good question. There are two things that kill this game for me. The biggest one being the overpowered cash shop, combined with the greed of the publishers. The good thing about their cash shop is they have a section where you buy things with "tokens". These tokens are gained from daily quests, of which you can do 10 a day. The bad thing is that if you spend a lot of money, you get a good char. All of the good item enchanting things(item enchanting is very important) are available in the cash shop.

Yeah, you CAN use the token shop to get those. But due to the fact that you have a limit on tokens, and that the items provided are worse than those in the cash shop itself, means you'll be spending a lot more gold and time to get the same results as p2p players.

This, combined with PK, leads to a phenomenon known as "twinking". Essentially, it's noobs who have a lot of cash to blow(for one reason or another) who decide to spend a fortune on their char. This obviously causes a lot of grief for other players who just want to play.

Anyway, I've said enough. Try the game, but I warn you. It gets difficult to proceed after 50 unless you pay.

i played Shaiya Runescape(this was like 6 years ago can't blame me i was young) Jade Dynasty Perfect World Battle for Wesnoth erm they all boored me after awhile sooo i'm back to Redstone idk what it is but Redstone has sumthin those other games dun have and you get addicted 2 it well i got addicted 2 it

Never played, can't say anything about it.

I can recommend other games, but none of them(besides RoM) are full MMORPGs.

i made a priest^^ in Runes of Magic....
i keep getting a GPU not good enough error at the load up start...but i just ignore it and it loads up succesfully...

but the game is too powerful for my lappy:/

it 'couild' actually be a contender for my time and effort if it werent for that simple fact stated above...

oh and the wierd thing that once you tell the system that you are in 'europe' zone...all the servers are in non english countries......im on a german server...o.O lol
ahhh well stay with Rs for a bit longer...see what happens....

I got neo going, you have to trick it into thinking your from the US for it to work lol, any way, its like a poor mans WOW, with weaker graphics, stories, quests, interface and every thing else, it plays ok though, has instanced dungeons, PVP , crafting and what have you, there are no char types, you can train any skills you want to, so you could be a mage/warior or a warior/ gunner or whatever you choose. i cant report it as a good game as i havent played enough for that, on the positive side there arent that many players so it should be posible to get around without too much trouble getting player killed .

any chance you could post up a ingame screenshot?

how many servers are there? or only one that incorporates PK?

when you say weaker graphics...u mean lower end...or just shit graphics?...maybe more chance my old lappy can work on it without much lag?

perhaps i will look into it...as long as the chars are too cutesy looking...:/
