I must say that for the first time in the two years that I have played this game, I have never really been irritated by the management/lack of updates until the last month or so. According to today's announcement on the Red Stone forums, Red Stone will no longer be hosted by K2 and Gamersfirst effective December 31, 2009. Raiden says that he must announce this with a heavy heart and is sad to see the game leave their control. I, for one, say good riddance. I'm not trying to be an asshole as I say this, but I think most will agree when I say that the game has been on a gradual downhill slope for quite some time. So many have quit and with the growing number of cheaters, the game was just getting to feel more and more like a chore. I can only hope that as L&K take over our server, they will 1, transfer our character data over to the new server, and 2, fix the current issues we still continue to face.
For now, I can only hope that the new management will be better than what we currently have... hell, it can't get any worse... In short, I guess I have something to look forward to now and have decided not to quit Red Stone as I was contemplating earlier today.

I know many of you have more questions now than you do answers and I understand that as almost every question you have thought of, I am working on getting an answer for as I write this. I have meetings scheduled with all of our teams today to review the process and ensure that players are being taken care of. It's been a long, strange trip - filled with both good times and bad. I hope to continue having the pleasure of talking with many of you - whether you stay a member of the GamersFirst community, or decide your stay here has come to an end - always feel free to come and say hello to me (if you can find me!). It was a tough decision for me to be quite honest - I love this community, I truly do (more so than Raiden I would dare to say). However, he was the most recent one to have worked with you all, and therefore in my mind would have been the most easily recognizable to any new players who may not have been around when I was. Plus, I know how passionate I am about this community, and when he asked to have the honor of making the announcement, I knew how I would have felt if someone denied me that.

You've got a lot of questions (as do I). I can't answer them all right now - we still need to answer some of these ourselves through discussions with L&K. I'll tell you what I know for now though to help alleviate some of your curiosity:

1 ) will we get reimbursed if we have multipul orbs
a ) This is a difficult issue because multiple orbs do not show in our tools as multiple orbs, since they are in the games shopping cart which is a separate entity from our web marketplace/shopping cart. We do not see the orb until you pull it from your cart into your bags, at which time it becomes active. I'll have to figure out what we can do in this situation as it will more complex than it actually sounds.

2 ) will G1 credits be transfer with game
a) I assume you mean if L&K takes over the game database and allows you to keep your characters, will your G1 balance transfer to L&K's version of the game - No, it will not. G1 credits are a part of GamersFirst, and are the currency used for purchasing premium items in all of our games. They WILL remain tied to your GamersFirst account, and can be spent in our other games, but will not translate to L&K's service of Red Stone.

3 ) will our accounts be transfered over
a ) This is unknown. We have offered the database to L&K, it is on them to make the decision on what they want to do.

4 ) will there be updates
a ) L&K is the developer of Red Stone (we published the game for them outside of Korea & Japan), they will continue to provide updates to the game. It is possible you will even move up to the same version as the Korean and Japanese versions (again, this is up to L&K).

5 ) will there be security
a ) Up to L&K again, but my guess is yes as they use this feature on their other versions as far as I am aware.

6 ) will the hackers stuff be fixed
a ) From what I have heard, yes it will be, but that is another item dependent on L&K's decisions. If they keep the characters, I imagine it will be fixed for sure. If players start over, there won't really be a need to fix anything (except prevent the exploit in the future).

7 ) will we actually get real support when transfer over. sorry for that one but as far as this
game goes the support we have recieved or should say lack of support. G1 support = fail
a ) As L&K is a Korean company, I am unclear what kind of english based support you might receive. If you speak Korean, your chances may be better.

Cant agree more but i for one will be shocked if the they buy the DB especially if the know the current state of that said data base.

RedStone is the best online game I have ever played to be totally honest. Just the way the game is, and it actually has a wide range and a very unique set of skills for each class, which i really like. Unlike other games that usually consist of a warrior mage or archer class, this game has so many more classes and ways to build that character to YOUR liking!! I mean yea, some builds are better than others, and this game requires some common sense to play. Other than this, RedStone has been an excellent experience in my life. I know some of you agree with me on that, and i know others of you will just say that I'm just another "fanatic with no life" but you guys know me too well. I care a lot on what others think, not just my own word. I think Druss wouldnt be suprised with this post, since he knew me the most in this game.

Seeing that I am almost done with school, only one more test I need to retake, and seeing how this game has gone to hell in the past 2 weeks. I am pretty much just waiting for them to give us a website and a game download to get started.

I honestly don't see them taking our DB and using it... unless they keep prandel and just make a new server. If they do I plan on starting on the new server. Only reason being they won't have the time or resources to go through our DB and fix all the problems.

I would love to rejoin when the switch is made and help rebuild with you guys. I've been debating on what class I actually wanna go with. I was thinking mage to begin with and maybe stick with, but I honestly don't know. I do know I will only have one account this time so I will need to pick my 4 classes I really wanna play and not change my mind.

Seeing how L&K has all the updates meaning no more SD gaps I am not sure what I would like to do ...

I have a month to figure it out. Just let CJ know whats going on and I'll keep talking to him as much as possible to find out.

I seriously doubt I will play Priest in the beginning, because I remember what it was like in 07 as a priest, and everyone's greed which left me pretty broke, and seeing the community as it is now is pretty much nothing but greed.

Right now I am looking at Mage, Lancer/Archer, Princess, and I am not sure about the last one...

Oh well like I said I have a month to figure it out. I have read so many people have already quit and are not going to come back especially if there is a restart, but I know I will be there. I think I know what cj is making.

hope to see you guys soon! I may log into game sometime before the game xfers and then for sure on the 30th and 31st if it is still up =)

It would be nice to see everyone back to playing regularly again. Lol and you weren't kidding about being incredibly broke as a priest in '07. I was in that same boat. I could never get any drops because I was a priest, and since it was my main, I had no other character to help make money.

Tbh, I used to be totally against having to restart, but the more I think about it, the more it is growing on me. Wink

Now i think of it, i think ill go monk first, beter at survival, and in the beginning i dont have my nice u's to help me out Razz

next to that... ofcourse ill get a priest again but thief first. to fill up the 2 other spots, i have demon in mind and the last 1... ill see what is will be Razz

i always wanted a char for drops. but i hate it being mine Very Happy

but now thats it seems necesary i think ill start a thief or a tamer for drops, then my necro and priest.
and if sandboxie may be used ill have a buff mage and priest.
