Dear Red Stone Community,
As you all know, we were in negotiations with L&K and Samsung regarding the future of Red Stone during the past few months and the results are here.
It is with a heavy heart that I am making this announcement. Our contract with L&K and Samsung will expire by the end of this year and it has been decided that we, GamersFirst, will no longer be the host of Red Stone. We will be terminating the services for Red Stone by 31 December, 2009.
The silver lining here is that the game itself will not be shut down completely. As per L&K, they will be taking over the services and the users and will host the game to the western world.
This announcement is being made as soon as I am privy to the details of the negotiations. There still are a few unanswered questions remaining for which we are waiting for a response from L&K. At this point, we know for a fact that L&K will be taking over the services. However, we do not have complete details about the transition plans yet. It is still unknown to us whether there will be a back-end transfer of the current DB to the new host or the existing players will have to re-register.
Answers to the questions regarding the transition will be made public during this month as soon as we get more details from the developers.
We are currently working on turning off the payment methods. We are making this announcement to the community as soon as the decision is finalized and are not waiting to work out the technical aspects of it as we know that the our players have the right to know about what is happening.
These are emotional and testing time but please bear in mind that the general rules do apply for all posts and replies in the Forum. It was not easy for us and even though we are on this side, it still hurts to see the game go. Please refrain from ranting on the Forum that may lead to unnecessary bans and terminations of accounts, which is not desired at this moment and would affect the gamer account transfer to L&K.
I would urge you all to stick around with G1 and welcome you guys to try any of the games that we publish. My personal recommendation is Sword of the New World, a place where I have been spending some time.
I agree that it is not a 2D Genre, but the game-play is amazing, storyline has been voted as the best, has multi-character control, awesome PVP and some very breath-taking graphics.
On a personal note, I had a great time with all of you guys over the last many months. The time I was informed about the decision was one of the lowest ever over my tenure in office. I am glad and honored to have had a chance to interact with you peeps and would certainly miss you all.
I had personally requested Manwe for allowing me to make this announcement as it is something that I had promised to my community and am emotionally attached to the game and to each one of you. Hoping that this is not a �goodbye� but just a �see you around the corner� situation.
It has been a privilege knowing you all and thank you for all your support.
